Specialises in the care of children with delayed gut allergies, such as FPIES, allergic colitis, allergic enteropathy, eosinophilic esophagitis, and multiple food protein intolerance
Immunotherapy
Provides immunotherapy for children with allergic rhinitis (hay-fever), asthma, and those with bee or wasp anaphylaxis
Immunodeficiency and periodic fever syndromes
Specialises in the diagnosis and management of children with immunodeficiency and recurrent fever syndromes
About dr. sam mehr
MBBS, BMedSci, FRCPA, FRACP
Dr Mehr completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and trained at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney. He is a Consultant Allergist/Immunologist in both public and private practice.
He has private rooms in both Sydney and Melbourne and practices through both rooms.
His current appointments include Consultant Staff Specialist in Allergy and Immunology at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Honorary Medical Officer at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Immunopathologist at Dorovitch Pathology, and the International Chair for the Medical Advisory Committee to the International FPIES association.
Dr Mehr has a interest in research, having published peer-reviewed papers published in both local and international journals and has been involved in clinical trials involving peanut desensitisation, molecular characterization of food allergies, and FPIES.
Dr Mehr provides clinical care to infants, children and adolescents with severe eczema, food/insect/drug allergies, FPIES, eosinophilic esophagitis, hay-fever/insect anaphylaxis (including those requiring immunotherapy), immunodeficiency and periodic fever syndromes. He immensely enjoys his interaction with his young patients and their parents
